Working as a Quantity Surveyor at Leighs?

 

What does my role involve?

My role involves the management of all financial aspects of construction projects from the initial pricing through to the final subcontractor and main contractor account settlements. Along the way we seek to minimise project costs and enhance value for money.

 

Why did I join Leighs ?

I joined Leighs as I was looking for a company that shared the same passion for construction as I did as well as having a strong desire to be leaders in our field.   I have now been here for 18 months.

 

What is it like working for Leighs? 

 I enjoy working in a passionate, dynamic and varied environment with high calibre colleagues. At Leighs you’re not just a number or a person at a desk, your contribution to the success of the business is highly valued, were good ideas get acted upon and changes made were necessary for the good of the business. Leighs has a great team culture that is evident from office management through to the on-site staff which is vital when delivering complex projects. Leighs Construction is a company that is well lead and will be leading the way in the rebuild of Christchurch.

 

What about the Future?

We are obviously entering into a very exciting time for the construction industry in Christchurch. We have the opportunity to be part of the rebuild of vast amounts of the city centre, and be involved in once in a life time projects. Leighs are very much positioning themselves as leaders in the rebuild, and I want to be a part of it.
